WarioWare Gold

WarioWare Touched on the DS was the first WarioWare game I ever played and it was one of my favourite games on the original DS. I sunk so many hours into that game so I was absolutely delighted when I found out that they were releasing a new title for the 3DS.
Similar to all the other WarioWare titles that have come before it, WarioWare Gold has the player completing consecutive "microgames" at increasing paces. Gold features both new microgames and microgames from past entries in the series for a total of over 300 microgames, the most featured in any series entry to date. The micro games are broken down into 3 categories, mash, twist and touch.
Gold is the first title in the WarioWare series to feature full voice acting for all of the characters. And while there were some instances where I enjoyed it, on the hold I wasn’t much of a fan of it and would have preferred that they only used some voice lines like in previous titles. Wario especially sounded off to me. We’ve heard Wario speak in other games but there was just something that wasn’t the same here in Gold and it annoyed me quite a bit, which is unfortunate because Charles Martinet is such a brilliant voice actor.
Sadly, due to the fact that Gold features so many micro games from previous titles it wasn’t able to hold my attention long after I completed the story mode which itself wasn’t very challenging and only took a few hours to complete. However, if you are someone who hasn’t ever picked up a WarioWare game, this is a must by for you as it is easily the definitive game so far. Here’s hoping that they announce a Switch title soon because it’s begging for it!!
