A Simple Favour

A Simple Favour is a drama/thriller film based on the book of the same name by Darcey Bell.

The film is filled with drama, mystery and a duel leading lady cast with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively both stealing the show and after hearing good things about the film online I was very curious and intrigued to watch it.

A Simple Favour centers around Stephanie (Kendrick), a mummy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily's (Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town.

If you enjoyed films such as Gone Girl and The Girl On The Train then this will most likely be your cup of tea as well. A Simple Favour has the same kinds of twists and turns that will leave you guessing right until the final act.

The chemistry between Kendrick and Lively’s characters is excellent and gripping. You become very invested in their friendship and the fact that their personalities are polar opposites created an atmosphere where the two actors were able to easily bounce off each other which lead to humour that was both dark and at times truthful.

I’m not much of a reader but after seeing the film I’m 100% going to be adding the book to my summer reading pile. I found this film super engaging and enjoyable to watch and I totally recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.
